Our Story

As I'm sure most of you have already seen from my Facebook page, I am engaged!!! So, here's our story:

Courting/Wooing/Dating
I met Nathan on Friday, November 1, 2013. We are in the same choir together and this particular day, I decided to come a little bit early. He was sitting outside the classroom and I took a seat next to him. Nathan, myself, and another member of the choir then engaged in a conversation about TimTams. Most Americans are severely missing out because they do not know what a TimTam is, so the other guy in this conversation and I felt it was our duty to inform everyone around us of how wonderful TimTams were.
Then, that next Monday, Nathan and I were made folder partners in our choir. (That just means that we sat next to each other and shared music.) Through this, we were able to get to know each other and become friends. He liked me from the very beginning. He asked me out and our first day was on November 26, 2013. We cut up snowflakes and ate peanut M&Ms and talked. Within a few days, he asked me out again. This time, the date wasn't for three weeks and he didn't tell me what we were doing. After much anticipation and patience, he drove all the way to Hale Center Theatre (which is an hour and half drive) where we saw "A Christmas Carol". We started to hang out and spend time together more and more. He was also very sweet during this time. He anonymously sent me flowers to my work when I had a bad day. He randomly showed up to class with my favorite dessert that he himself made.
We decided that neither of us really wanted to date anyone else, nor did we want the other to be going out with anyone else. Therefore, just after midnight on Christmas day, we decided to become exclusive. Santa granted my wish and I got a boyfriend for Christmas.
Since then, we have fallen head over heels in love with each other. And after much consideration, thought, and praying, we decided that our lives would be incomplete without each other. I don't want to spend another day without him being a part of it. And he feels the same for me. Therefore, we came to the conclusion that we should get married and spend the rest of eternity together.

The Proposal
In the beginning of February, Nathan and I went ring shopping. We only needed to go to one place before we found exactly what we were looking for. Nathan had me choose a handful of rings that I really liked. He then would pick from the bunch which one to give me. After choosing rings, he then told me to keep March 1 open because that was when he wanted to propose. But he was not going to give me any indication as to how.
Then one day, he told me not to make plans on February 22. He said that he wanted to plan the day for us. Since surprises were never an uncommon thing with him, I didn't think too much of it. He told me the night before to be ready to go to the temple at 6:30am the next morning. When we completed our work at the temple, we then walked around the grounds for a bit. Afterwards, he dropped me off at my apartment and told me he'd pick me up in an hour or so so that I could get ready for the day. Once I was in his car, I was under the impression that we were picking up his sister, but I grew very suspicious when we past her street. We drove up Logan Canyon and ended up stopping at Second Dam. I discovered that he prepared my favorite breakfast, breakfast burritos. When we finished eating, we decided to walk around the lake for a bit. After maybe 15 mins of walking, we headed back to the car. On the way, we crossed a bridge where he stopped. He hugged me tight and then got down on his knee. I was honestly surprised and started jumping up and down and squealing like an idiot. He asked me to marry him and I accepted.
After some hugging and mushy stuff, we picked up his sister and drove down to Alpine to his parents' house. They threw us an engagement party! They had heart shaped pizza and heart shaped chocolate cake, balloons, the works. It was so great. To make things even better, my family showed up at his parents' house as well! It was awesome to have our families finally sit down and meet each other. It was a great visit and I loved every second of it.

So thats pretty much our story thus far. We are getting married on June 6 in the Draper temple. And I cannot wait to spend every day for the rest of eternity with his man. He is my everything and I love him more and more every day. I cannot wait to see where this journey with him leads to and what adventures lie ahead of us.
